JOURNAL

Just to let anyone whos reading know that I barely use DeviantART anymore and its just become a place where crap I did in the past comes back to haunt me. This isn't a big drama thing, just a simple notice that Joana and myself will occassionally post our art on our joint account ickleart which is ickleart.deviantart.

This also is where I'd like to close a chapter of my life which...wasn't really good so I wanna move on from it and move on from that character Myphrill a bit.

Thanks for all those who watched, commented and made art for Jo and I.

See you at ickleart.deviantart

JOURNAL

23rd November is a special date for Joana and I. Its the day we met each other on DeviantART way back in 2004.

I still have her original comment saved on my computer from where she had seen my photo on my DA page which I thought was silly lol but she liked it =x

Then in April 2006 we first got the opportunity to meet each other, I flew to Portugal to visit her for 5 days, which were literally the best days of our lives at that point. I only booked 5 days in a local hotel because we thought that if we both dont get along very well, we wont want a week or 2 weeks together. In the end we both wished we had more than 5 days and it was a very weepy good bye...most painful moment of my life for sure...

Luckily I was able to stay at Joanas place the next time which meant I could afford a longer stay, 8 days! It was a great August though.

The next visit was over the christmas holidays for 11 days I believe it was, meaning I spent my birthday there. They even had a cake for me and sung happy birthday lol, it was really nice. We also saw in the new year together, a very tender and special moment where on the stroke of midnight I gave Joana a ring, which I called a 'forever ring'. Again...it was a painful goodbye come 3rd of January...

The fourth visit was Easter, on similar days to that of my first visit, but this time it was for 2 weeks! Finally a full length visit we both thought. On this visit I think we took hundreds of photos and videos lol.

Visit number 5 was also 2 weeks, maybe 15 days actually, and it was in late August 2007. This is the visit most recent in my memory and the one that showed us how life would be if we both lived together, and things look positive.
There were one or two down moments in this visit, but as always we fix them almost immediately and not let them affect the rest of the visit. Our goodbye was cut short in this visit when an airport security guard said that Joana could not pass a certain point...which we didnt expect. Usually we can both go to check in before we say goodbye...but not this time.

It was a tearless good bye, but painful and short...not as either of us had intended. Its horrible thinking you got 30mins left, then being told you gotta say good bye now when you arent prepared...

The 6th and last visit is on the 15th December. No no its not cos Joana and I are splitting up, but because she will be coming here to the UK at last. It will be so strange but nice being with Joana in the town I grew up in.

This is our 3rd anniversary and we plan to celebrate many more

JOURNAL

Home once again after visit number 5 to :iconkate-light:s. 19th August - 2nd September.

It seems no matter how long I book these visits to last, they all seem being shorter and shorter as each time Jo and I have more fun than the last. Sometimes I tried to bore myself, just to make the time seem longer so a moment could laster longer. In the car to her home, there were a few moments of silence. They weren't awkward, they were ''make this last as long as possible''. Even before I went, I had dreams of waking up and the visit being over before it had even started...

In the two weeks, we did many many things together. From the peaceful times in the park, watching the ducks, to roller blading around the large underground garage hall, to going on the beach, sharing ice creams, and going off-roading in a large former Portuguese Army jeep. That was amazing, better than any rollercoaster or anything because it was real. You weren't safely strapped in, and secured to a metal track. There were no rear seatbelts, and each jump and bump was 'anything could happen'.

I stayed at Joana's house again, so thank you to her parents who trust me enough to let me stay. We arranged my visit to end on the 2nd, as we thought school/uni would begin on about the 3rd...but it doesn't for either of us -_-. We both go back around the 17th. If we knew that, we coulda had an extra week or just had the visit later, cheaper tickets, more spending money.

Hopefully this December, if Joanas parents consent, she will be able to spend a couple weeks in England for christmas. She can't (and I can't) wait to go around London, Camden Market, Canterbury, Ashford, and Kent generally. Maybe she'll get to see decent snow, possible...maybe. X3

JOURNAL

I've been sitting here on the laptop playing music and sorting files out that have just swarmed the laptop and...this guy comes talking to me. I recognise the name from a year ago maybe and its some anthro artist. We began talking.

I'm guessing they came to me cos they wanted a nice furry chat or something, but they hadn't realised in the year they haven't spoken to me, I had moved on a bit. Now I'm no furry hater, DRAWING and LIKING anthros is fine, I've drawn my share of anthro art with Myphrill and what-not, but at what kind of age do you say ''Okay, I think I am being too obsessed and SEXUALLY attracted to little fluffy characters''?

I recall one person I knew, he was about...19 at the time I think, maybe 18 - not sure. He's a fairly big guy, 6ft tall approx weighing 140lbs maybe. He made paper fox ears, put them on his head, went to his mum and said something along the lines of ''Mum, I'm a cute little foxie!''

Is this not the behaviour of elementary/primary school kids?

JOURNAL

As you may have seen, DeviantART is a wonderful place for people to meet, make friends, and even fall in love, but unfortunately the couples don't always work out. I'm especially talking about couples that stretch across continents, most commonly across Europe and America. Many of the DA 'anthro and furries' most popular couples, have been defeated by the distance between them, and the laws of immigration between their countries.

That is what makes me personally, extra excited at the fact that Joana :iconkate-light: will be moving to Kent, England in late 2008 into renting accomodation with myself, largely thanks to the bursary/grant and student loan money I've been given from the art university I attend in Kent.

Over the past few days, Joana and I have been hugely excited at the idea of being able to live together so soon and being able to get together against impossible odds. I've seen couples inside the same continent break down due to the distance, cost of visiting each other, and cost of hotels etc.

When Joana finally lives here, it will have cost me well in excess of £1500 in flights, £1200 in spending money while in Portugal, but it by 2008 it will have all been worth it, for Joana to live in her spiritual home; England.

Hopefully we'll just have a room to share at £50 a week or so, near my university where (luckily) its the cheapest place to rent in the whole of Kent.

(Kent is the 2nd most expensive place to live in UK after London).

This has made us both kinda emotional even though it's so far away still, and there's still 3 or 4 visits before she comes here, but we're excited like its happening next week.
